in Lima, reception and
transfer to your hotel.

morning. Afternoon
guided visit of the four ruins nearby; the Sacsayhuaman Fortress,
Kenko, the red Fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay,, followed by a
city tour of Cuzco; the Main Square, the Cathedral and the
Koricancha or Temple of the Sun.

Valley- Ollantaytambo
Full-day
excursion to the beautiful Urubamba, the SacredValleyof the
Inca situated between Pisac and Ollantaytambo and then a visit to
Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which was not defeated by the Spanish.

5.Cuzco-
Wayllabamba
After
an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Chilca by bus,. At
Km82 we cross over the VilcanotaRiver, then
up past the Llactapata and Patallacta ruins, and trek towards camp
arriving around 17h00.
Day
6.
Wayllabamba - Pacaymayu Today
we climb up through the first pass at 4,200 m/13,750 feet at Warmiwanusqa.
Passing 3 ecological areas such as the Yunga, Quechua and Puna. we will
climb 1000 metres in 5 hours. Today camp and dinner near Pacaymayu.
Overnight on the trail.

7. Pacaymayu
- Winayhuana
Today
is a much easier and shorter day. After breakfast, we will trek up the
second pass to the archaeological sites of Runquraqay and then down to
the restored town site of Sayaqmarka . We will then head along the
original granite Inca Trails to the archeological Phuyupatamarka ("
CloudLevel Town ")
and have lunch. We will then begin the decent to Winaywayna where a visit
of the ruins and have dinner will conclude the day.

8. Winayhuana -Machu
Picchu Cuzco (Breakfast)
Early morning wake up at 4:30
a.m. for
breakfast and to begin the trek to be the first at the archaeological site
of Macchu Picchu for the sunrise. Orchids and hummingbirds are commonly
seen along this spectacular section of the trail high above the river. We
will arrive at Intipunko "Gate of the Sun" to observe the
sunrise over Macchu Picchu. A guided tour of the marvelous citadel,
visiting the Main Plaza , the
Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, the CircularTower and the
Sacred Sun Dial and Burial Grounds. After the guided tour, transfer to
Aguas Calientes onto
the train station for your return train to Cuzco.

9. Cuzco-Puerto Maldonado (Amazon Jungle) (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Transfer
to the airport for the flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception and transfer
to the Tambopata river port in Puerto Maldonado. Puerto Maldonado is
situated at the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata Rivers. Its
principal activities are gold mining, Brazil nut collecting, timber
extraction, agriculture and ecotourism. After a brief survey of the town
you will depart on a 1 hour ride via Infierno road, followed by a 30
minute boat journey by motorized canoe to Posada Amazonas. Depending upon
your arrival time, you will have a boxed lunch aboard the boats or have
lunch upon arrival at Posada Amazonas. During your voyage you may see bird
such as: Black Skimmer, Pied Lapwing, Capped Heron, Jabiru Stork, Roadside
Hawk, and several species of kingfishers. After arrive at Posada Amazonas,
you will unpack and unwind. Posada Amazonas is a comfortable yet
unobtrusive 30 room lodge owned jointly by Rainforest Expeditions and the
Local Community of Infierno. A short orientation and briefing on the lodge
and the Ecotourism Project before your afternoon activity, the canopy
tower. Here, you will visit a 35 metre scaffolding tower that is only15 minutes walk from the
lodge. The scaffolding tower is built so that you climb safely using the
internal staircase with verandas on each side, and rest in platforms every
2 meters . From the top you not only get a spectacular view of the
river and the surrounding forest but also excellent opportunities to
observe birds from the canopy including parrots, toucans and macaws.
Return to the lodge. A video about the forest of Tambopata will be
displayed after dinner.
Day
10. Posada
Amazonas (Breakfast,
lunch and dinner)
Early
wake at dawn for a visit to the Tres Chimbadas oxbow lake. After an early
breakfast, departure fifteen minutes from Posada Amazonas by boat followed
by a 30 minute walk to the lake shore. From here you will take a long,
easy canoe ride around the lake looking for giant river otters, turtles,
hoatzin, and wading birds. The giant river otters that are seen in Tres
Chimbadas belong to a resident family of nine. Return to the lodge for
lunch before embarking on your afternoon outing to the community's
ethnobotanical center. From this little shop, the community has been
registering the uses of medicinal plants from elders and planting,
producing and distributing them for over ten years. You will hike the
trails around the centre with one of the residents who will explain the
everyday uses of forest resources in medicine, construction, food and
fiber. Return to Posada Amazonas for dinner and overnight. Optional night
walk to look for amphibians and insects

11. Posada
Amazonas - Cuzco (Breakfast)
After
an early breakfast, depart by boat back to the city of Puerto Maldonado,
directly to the airport, for your return flight back to Cuzco.
Reception and transfer to your hotel.
Day
12. Cuzco
- Puno (Breakfast
& lunch)
Transfer
to the bus station for the tourist bus to Puno. The journey will take you
across the imposing altiplano region of Peru affording magnificent views
of the majestic snow peaks of the. Along the route, there shall be plenty
of opportunities to see alpacas and vicuñas in their natural habitat. A
stop for lunch at Sicuani. Stops will also be made at Pukara and several
other archaeological sites. It is a long bus journey but with lovely sites
on route. Arrival
in Puno and transfer to your hotel.
Day
13. Puno - Titikaka Lake(Breakfast
& lunch)
Early
transfer to the port for the boat journey on Lake Titicaca to the floating
islands of Uros. Made entirely of reeds and inhabited by the
Aymara Uros people, they live in huts built on platforms of reeds, not
more than 30-40 cms/1foot thick. Short hike on the islands, then the boat
trip continues as far as the island of Taquile. Members of this self
supporting Aymara community receive visitors in their colourful national
costume and show them around the island. Taquile is renowned for its fine,
decorative weavings. Lunch
before your return to Puno in the early afternoon.

14 Puno - Juliaca- Lima (Breakfast)
After
breakfast, transfer to Juliaca airport for the flight back to Lima.
Reception and transfer to your hotel. Free day.
Day
15. Lima - Huaraz (Breakfast)
After
breakfast, journey along
the northern coast of the Panamericana Highway, before turning east and
through the spectacular
mountain scenery of the Andes. The town of Huaraz, set amongst the giant
snow peaks of the Andes is the most beautifully situated town in the whole
of Peru. Transfer to your lodge

16. Llanganuco
Lake(Breakfast)
Trip
to the north along the Callejón de Huaylas from Huaraz. Stopovers include
Carhuaz, Yungay, the village that was totally destroyed in the 1970
earthquake, and Ranrahirca. Llanganuco is a beautiful, turquoise coloured
glacial lake of the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range
in the world. Return to Huaraz.

17. Pastoruri Glacier -
Huaraz(Breakfast
and boxed lunch)
With
an early departure, pass through the towns of Recuay and Catac and then
head east towards the mountain of Pastoruri. A visit to several
prehistoric wall paintings, the seven coloured well andnatural mineral springs. This is the habitat of the Puya Raymondi,
the largest flowering plant in the world. The Puya takes 29 years to grow
to maturity, has thousands offlowers
and towers over 12m high. Upon reaching the base of Pastoruri, option of
either going up to the glacier on horseback or a gentle hike, of about one
hour's duration. Return to Huaraz before taking the night bus to Lima.

18. Lima- Pisco (Breakfast)
Arrival
and transfer to your hotel for a day-in-use. Midday transfer to Paracas by first class bus, which will take us
along the coast line through the arid Atacama desert, for about three
hours south from Lima. Transfer to the hostel in Pisco, a bustling vibrant
little desert town well known for its production of wine and the famous
Pisco Sour.

19.Paracas
and Ballestas Islands - Nazca (Breakfast)
After
breakfast, transfer to the port for a guided tour in boat of the Ballestas
islands. Commonly referred to as the "little Galapagos", here
you will see an amazing concentration of sea birds and sea lions in their
natural habitat. Return to the mainland and a trip to the Paracas National
Reserve. The trip includes a
visit to a museum showing the natural history of the Paracas Reserve in
addition to the pre-Inca Paracas culture. A visit to the beautiful natural
rock formation known as the cathedral before taking lunch. Return to the
hotel. Transfer to Nazca by Bus inland to the town of Nazca and
accommodation at the Hotel.
Day
20. Nazca - Lima (Breakfast)
Before
breakfast, a tour flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines; gigantic drawings
and geometrical figures engraved in the driest desert of Peru and dating
back to 250 AD. With
representations of animals, such as a spider, a monkey and several birds,
they are believed to be an enormous astronomical calendar or possibly an
offering to the gods. The drawings are not in actual desert sand but on small rock
debris, varying in length from 150m to 300m and with a depth of 20cm.
After breakfast, return journey by bus to Lima. Transfer to your hotel.

21. Lima Breakfast)
After
breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
